Annie P. Fink My Professional Art Teaching Website

ABOUT

I started taking an interest in art at a very young age. Growing up, I had a family full of artists, mainly my mother and aunt, who were both art teachers, and who influenced me a great deal and introduced me to all sorts of artistic projects and types of art-making. I always had a passion and gift for art. However, it wasn’t until after I graduated from my undergraduate school that I finally had the chance to apply my talent in art school where I took formal training and practiced and refined my skills as an artist. After a series of graduate-level studio courses, I finally decided to make a career out of art and get my post-baccalaureate teacher certification in visual arts education and become an art teacher.

I was trained in drawing. However, I recently began painting and doing portraits of people, animals, landscapes and still-life’s (most lately I have been working on paintings of friends’ pets!). I enjoy color theory, as well, and learning and experimenting with mixing colors – a real passion I never knew I had. I think mainly, the reason I love to draw and paint from life, is the ultimate objective of a human figure artist to capture the most realistic representation of the actual subject itself.

I am from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and I currently live and work in Ann Arbor as an art teacher. I went to undergraduate school at Miami University (of Ohio) in Oxford, Ohio and then went to art school in San Francisco, California at the Academy of Art University. I ended up moving back to Michigan and going to Eastern Michigan University in the College of Education where I got my Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification in Visual Arts Education.

Please contact me at my email address and visit my webpage for more information. If you are interested in ordering or purchasing any of my artwork, please contact me at my email or phone number listed on my page.
